Webinar on Enhancing Mini and Micro Hydropower Projects


In this context, Renewable Energy Confederation of Nepal (RECON) on Wednesday May 20, 2020, organised a webinar on Enhancing Mini and Micro Hydropower Projects Wednesday May 20, 2020 to discussion and exchange knowledge and receive views and opinions experts and professionals.

On the occasion, Member of Electricity Regulatory Commission and former Executive Director of AEPC Dr. Ram Prasad Dhital, Executive Director of AEPC Mr. Madhusudhan Adhikari, Vice President of Independent Power Producers Association Nepal Mr. Kumar Pandey, RE Expert Mr. Vishwa Bhushan Amatya, Banker Mr. Bharat Raj Dhakal also spoke on different aspects of Small Hydropower in Nepal and possible ways and measures to rescue such hydropower plants with government interventions and enhancing entrepreneurs' capacity.  

RECON Chairperson Mr. Guna Raj Dhakal, in his remarks, said that Nepal is generating nearly 1,400 MW and it will be generating 3,000 MW in a few years. Other technologies are also equally important in generating energy for the country from the point of view of energy security. Likewise, energy is one of the basic needs for economic development, so energy generating should be diversified and the government, development partners, professionals and private sector must be sensitive to contribute for socio-economic development of the citizens by creating business and employment opportunities.
