RECON, CRT-N with NARMIN Interaction Programme


On the occasion, Former Minister Er. Ganesh Shah said that efforts should be made for the noble cause of providing access of modern energy to people. Modern technologies as well as traditional practices should be implemented with wider home works. Renewable energy technologies should be able to contribute in agricultural development so as irrigation facilities would be well available. For irrigation Solar PV Pumping Systems have been promoted successfully. Likewise, bio-fertiliser should be promoted to reduce import and use of chemical fertiliser. Large bio-gas plants should be developed to produce larger amount of bio-fertiliser. Modern energy needed for micro, small and cottage industries in the rural setting also well considered so as expenses in the firewood or imported fuel could be checked. Employment and economy will also be increased. He also stressed on important role of quality human resources to develop for the desired results.

Mr. Ganesh Ram Shrestha, Executive Director of CRT-N said CRT-N has been working for the promotion of technologies. He advised for best experiences to be taken into consideration so as renewable energy technologies bring result in women, disables, marginalised and poor people to uplift living quality. GIE Nepal Project has been successfully carrying out various knowledge sharing programmes as lobby and advocacy activities. He also informed that CRT-N has been conducting Eco Village Development programme for the second phase after successfully conducting the first phase programme.      

Mr. Banshi Lal Tamang, General Secretary of NARMIN also stressed the need of collaborating with RECON and other institutions for renewable energy technologies to implement for the benefit of the people. Therefore, organisations equipped with expertise can work together with NARMIN in formulating plans, policies and better human resource to handle the programmes.

Energy experts Mr. Vishwa Bhushan Amatya, Dr. Laxmi Prasad Devkota, Er. Nabin Bhujel, entrepreneur Mr. Kushal Gurung, President of Nepal Micro Hydropower Development Association Er. Krishna Prasad Devkota, President of National Association of Community Electricity Users-Nepal Mr. Narayan Gyawali also spoke on various aspects of renewable energy technologies to the people of rural and remote locations.

The interaction meeting organised by RECON and CRT-N was a part of Green and Inclusive Energy Programme (GIE Nepal Project). The GIE Nepal Project is supported by Hivoc and ENERGIA. RECON is a part of consortium of GIE Nepal Project lead by Centre for Rural Technologies.
